So I was in a dilemma the other day as I wanted to get my car road-worthied and
registered. As an Australian we have to declare the miles or Kms' on our Odemeters
plus the engine number for it to pass. As I searched everywhere I couldn't find it until
I combed it over and guess where it was?
The easiest way to find your engine number on a B3/B5 spire engine is;
Start at your head cover oil cap go towards the back on the head cover
inline with the oil cap towards the engine bay firewall, keep going then look
over the edge of the head cover, down in amongst all those hoses you will
see a steel tab sticking out. It will be flat and engraved into the tab will be
the engine number and it's platform identifier. In this case mine was B3.
The way applies for B5 engines as well. Be mindful of sharing engine numbers
