So here it is. There are no custom or set CAI intake systems for our cars and as some of us
have jerryrigged up kind of intake system. I've decided I would like to start manufacturing
intake systems just for our spires/avellas/gen 2's.

They kits will be premade and on costs cheapest from 80 bucks to 200 AUD. I feel that it's
a fair deal providing I'll be selling a lot of them overseas. The intake systems will have the
following:

* Auto engine grade silicon joiners
* Gal pipe clamps
* Aluminium straight sections
* Flexicon Intake hose which can be
manipulated to bend and extend and retract.
* A High grade performance pod filter (SCA Brand)
* A reducer to suit our throttle bodies

Tell me what you think? I would really love to contribute to the performance side of Aspires
to stop the rip offs of the performance world who also shun our little eggs.

There is already a performance engine builder who builds custom b3 intake manifolds.

On his b3 build it gained him 20hp.
I am going to have him make me one as well as he builds my engine.

I skimmed his albums and got the intake manifold shots.

Pretty awesome right?

I would edit your original post to not say that no one makes intake manifolds for our engine cause it's not true tongue.gif

I believe he is talking about a cold air intake kit not an intake manifold.

That's exactly what my post says? Yes cold intake systems. Much like mine with the ability
to alter the air pathway so you can have cold or warm air. smile.gif

Cheers. I just landed a new job in the one industry where I can make the key component cheap!
Convenient!

My bad guys lmao.

You could make a heat shield and hood scoop like i did?

The heat shield blocked the heat from the engine.
While the hood scoop (which the opening was about a half inch above the cone filter) filled the area with fresh cold air.

Before adding the hood scoop my aspire seemed to top out at 85mph on flat ground in fifth gear.
My 2nd aspire all stock was also topping out at around 85mph on flat ground.

with the hood scoop I would get a boost of power above 80mph from the cold dense air being forced into the cone filter. Which helped reduce the pressure drop across the filter resulting in my car topping out the Speedo on flat ground in fifth gear.

After that experience I would like to incorporate anothe ram air style hood scoop or radiused intake funnel on the bumper. to help get some free boost from the moving vehicle.

In a stock aspire the stock airbox with a k&n drop in filter is your best bet. If you could create a heat shield to separate it from the engine heat whilst adding an air inlet to the shielded off area. I bet you would get the most bang for your buck.

The stock box would keep torque figures high by keeping the airflow speed high and inlet air smooth flowing with no turbulence so that the maf sensor can get accurate readings. While the fresh air coming in would add some density. I would say it's the best off both worlds.
