Hi there! I’m new on this forum, and I want to start modify my 96 aspire. At first I want to lower the suspension, I’ve read all those topics on this forum and few on others, and I didnt read a 100% sure and perfect way to do it. So I want to do it as legitness as possible. No cuting springs. Can someone write here a guide how to do it correctly? And whats the best way to do it(only change the springs, or struts too) and from What cars can I fit the suspension to my aspire? I’m from Poland(sorry For my language) and we dont have miatas in here, in Europe they’re called mx3 or mx5, but however - I found that I probably can fit kia pride’s struts and springs to an 96 aspire and on polish „ebay” i found lowering springs to that kia. So whats the best parts to use? And What parts are best to change? (Struts and springs? Or only springs?)

First off welcome.

Well from what I remember, Kia Rio struts from years 00,01 and 02 (correct me if I'm wrong)
share the same suspension tower bolt configuration. These springs and struts are sturdier, tougher
and thicker. Otherwise, try and find an adjustable coil over and strut kit. I would recommend a
mazda kit off a Protege or B6 engine equivalent with the same bolt pattern. As aspire's use mazda
suspension and kia parts, it's not actually that hard to find the bits you need. Of course, it actually
comes down to how much COIN $$ you want to pump into finding and purchasing a decent coilover
lowering kit.

Trust me, It's worth it so long as you have the dollars.

and as always. http://files.jcink.net/uploads/aspire/welcome.gif http://files.jcink.net/uploads/aspire/bunnyd.gif

Check out ford festiva .com the form has right ups part #,s and picks of adjustable suspension options for the Ford festiva but I would think most of the festiva mods would work well on an aspire I lowered my wife's 96 aspire by cutting the springs I cut about half a coil of the springs the ride is stiffer and I have had no problems with it it sits about a inch or so lower than stock hope this helps and welcome to the form

In Australia the ford aspire is called the festiva WB 1994-1996

Check out the 2018 King Springs catalog and look for that model
If you wish to verify my info.
https://www.google.com/url?q=https://kingsp...vo3N90wTO69XHkd

King Springs offers 2 options;

1.) The lowered coils
Front set part # KFFL-95
Rear set part # KFRL-96<--progressive rear springs used

2.) standard height stiffer coils
Front set part # KFFS-95
Rear set part # KFRS-96

I would check out https://www.ebay.com.au/ for sellers and get in contact with them before committing to purchase so they can send you the purchase price that includes shipping to your location since most of them expect it to be local to Australia only, with free shipping.

For example.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/King-Springs-KF...7YAAOSwBjdZ-ukb

I ordered the Standard heights coils for my 96 aspire & I love them.
If your route is lowering this would be your most ideal option.

As far as struts I would just get a set of kyb's.

Replace them both together.

Nolathane makes polyurethane bushings for the swaybar to core, inner+ outer tie rod end bushings.

Replace the stock bushings while your at it.
Front strut mounts, rear upper strut tower bushings.

If you do it all together you'll have no regrets later.

Then at the end you should get a custom alignment from a suspension/performance shop to get it dialed in so you can get the maximum enjoyment out of your new suspension.
Get some upper strut mounts for the front

As far as coil spring isolators that sit atop the springs.
I had to get elastomeric pads and hand make a full set cause they aren't made anymore.
Took a couple hours to make each one.

Thanks For the replies, I’m thinking that here in Poland I can find some coils and struts that fit, but the main problem is that almost all of mazda models are called here 323 and I don’t know What year that mazda should be because diffrent ages has diffrent struts, a mazda protege is called familia here or 323fbj and Thats the main problem - from What ages should that mazda be to fit. If I would know that, the parts wouldnt be a problem at all

Okay I was reading alot today, the coil springs from king springs fist mazda 121 too, so I would order mazda ones here in Poland, but What I should do with the struts? I want to go 40mm lower on front and back, does OEM struts will be fine with those springs? Or I should buy a shorter ones?

you have the part numbers. Order by those.

Not by vehicle.

That will make sure you get exactly whay you need.

As far as struts there aren't many options.
I would stick with stock kybs to keep things simple.
But make sure to order new bump stops to help prevent bottoming out of the struts.

lowering springs and I'ma gonna get them. Gonna need those bumpstops though.

Any suggestions? Or best place to buy from? Gotta work on a budget. Gotta be
practical y'know. smile.gif

Was there much modifying involved there? Or was she a direct swap. That'd be great if it is that
easy. biggrin.gif http://files.jcink.net/uploads/aspire/likemoticon.png

It was a direct swap, those springs are the same as are in 1st and 2nd generation mazda 121 and in All years and generations of kia pride. In Poland(Europe) those springs thats dedicated for kia pride makes MTS Technik they are great fits normal struts and are super easy to mount smile.gif
