Hi again guys,

I've located an AMR series supercharger which will generated up to about
8lbs of boost or so I'm told, either way, it's only for my Red Bean to get a
bit more zip. It's a good lookin belt drive Unit.

Roots Supercharger AISIN AMR

I've been saving up to buy one! It'll do wonders for my little B3. Guys have reportedly put them in
their B6 civics and tuned them right up like crazy! Wonderful.

What do yall think?

From what I Heard the b3 engine is a 8 valve unit and it will have problems with burning pistons etc, my friend send to me „So I've had the cams shaved, had custom pistons turned and a new crankshaft, the cylinders have been taken out 20thou. Had all new valves, springs, the exhaust side opened up larger, and it's been cc out to lower compression. A custom order double thickness head gasket from the USA as well” and „You would need to do a head gasket and swap to turbo pistons and rods because If you turbo stock internals, they will melt when you start aiming for power„ but If you could find a little supercharger unit off another small car with minor mods that would bolt on

Well actually, that is correct IF I was going turbocharged. But this AMR series is out of a snowmobile
so realistically, it's only designed to put out about 6psi at maximum without blowing anything up as
our compression ratio is 9.7.1. You need to keep the ratio under 12.0.1 to avoid destroying anything.

A little persistence and research pays off and if I total this engine, I have another B5 lying around
ready to go. tongue.gif http://files.jcink.net/uploads/aspire/likemoticon.png

I get it, so I would like to try put a supercharger too, keep me in toutch how the progress is going and how much it gaves. I’m thinking, while putting a supercharger to our engine do we need to make a tune up map or something? Or its a plug and go thing?

From what I read, it appears to be plug and play but has a few restrictions. Including that some
engine capacities must have upgraded fuel management to compensate for the additional air
being thrown down the cylinders. SO there is one key upgrade required oh, it you must have a
half decent intake track to run the additional pressure.
