Hi all. I have a 1995 Ford Aspire, Wild Iris (purple) in color, that I'm looking to get rid of. The VIN is KNJLT06H4S6155455.
This car served me well for many years (I am the only owner), but in 2015, it just stopped running; there is a gremlin in the electrical system that I've never been able to pin down. I'm pretty sure it's a short under the dash on the left side, but I haven't found it in my occasional hunts. I finally gave up and took it to the shop. Of course, for them it started just fine. So whether it will start or not at any given time is a tossup.
Having just sat for three years obviously has not been good for the engine. Also, it needs a brake job (including the front calipers replaced), and it's starting to rust out on the sides near the ground.
On the other hand, it has a nearly-new battery, a nice Sony Bluetooth CD stereo, and a recently-replaced fuel pump.
The car is in Carbondale, Illinois.
Obviously I'd love to sell it to one of you Aspire-lovers (for parts if nothing else), but I'm also looking for advice—what should I do with it? How much should I ask for it? I'm hoping to avoid just selling it for scrap, but if that's my best option…
Thanks in advance!
