Hi there! I’m looking for a new set of wheels to my 96 aspire. I want to buy a regular steel wheels and expand them. The OEM wheels are 13” 4,5” wide and an offset +41. I want to buy 13” but here where I live I cannot find any 13’s with +41 offset. So here’s my question What offset should the wheels have before extending them and What offset should they have if I want to extend them to 7” in the front and 8” in the back? I dont know What wheels should I buy to start extending them and I dont know What meassurements should I tell those guys that will do the job. Any suggestions? Or help? I know that wider wheel=less offset

I just bought wider wheels. I run 15x7s and I run 195/50/15s and do not have any rubbing issues. I have this tire and wheel combo on two of my Aspires without issue

But I want to extend the stock wheels by adding them more width in the front, and I’m wondering how wide can I go

Generally, we're limited by the bottom of the suspension strut. However, with a couple of wheel
spacers (Illegal in Australia) you can extend them out further. Now, the maximum I've had on my
glowspire was 195/55/16R. Try it out and see what happens. =)

Okay so I’ve got the answer if someone would like go extend their stock wheels - I’m going to extend mine in the front of the wheel, so i dont have to wory about fitment with the shock strut, and if You want to wide Your steelies in Your aspire You can easly go into 6 inches (1,5 inch wider than stock) in the front and Thats maximum and in the back You can go into 6,5 inches (2 inches wider than stock) that measurments are For extending stock sized wheels in the front of the wheel

Not to sound pessimistic but that sounds a touch dangerous. 6 inches? You have to remember
that if you over extend the load centre of the front wishbone and hub, chances are you will
alter your camber, damage and stress out the suspension and driving arms. I'd recommend
reinforcing those sections for when you go over speed humps or rough terrain. smile.gif

But good luck and shoot us some pix when it's done! http://files.jcink.net/uploads/aspire/bunnyd.gif

So that’s The result. The camber is great everything sits perfectly, No rubning etc. So in the back I have 6.5 made from a 4.5 inch wheel and in the front is 6 from 4.5 inch. Tyres are allstar riken 165/70
